We must demand the COVID-19 vaccine be free for everyone.

COVID-19 continues to wreak havoc on all our lives. While we are each doing our part to prevent the spread, and while frontline healthcare workers risk their lives to care for the sick, not enough is being done to address the greatest challenge of all –ensuring everyone on the planet gets a vaccine as quickly as possible and free of charge.

The COVID-19 vaccines are owned by big pharmaceutical corporations who are refusing to share the science and tech that could speed up affordable mass production and distribution for the entire planet. This is despite that science being paid for by taxpayers around the world. 

No one company can produce enough for the whole world. So long as vaccine recipes are kept under lock and key, there will not be enough to go around.

Pharma corporations should not be allowed to dictate who lives and who dies.

It’s time to demand governments temporarily waive patents at the World Trade Organisation and that pharmaceutical corporations join the WHO’s COVID-19 technology access pool (C-TAP), to scale-up mass production of COVID-19 vaccine and save lives. 

We need a people’s vaccine, not a profit vaccine. Sign the petition now.
